Public Preview: Content Understanding NextGen in Microsoft Foundry

Microsoft Foundry brings Content Understanding into the portal in public preview, ending the context switch to the standalone Content Understanding Studio for everyday work. Developers get Read and Layout playgrounds inside Foundry for OCR text extraction and structural document analysis covering tables, figures, sections, and hyperlinks, all reachable through Foundry model discovery. Prebuilt document and image analyzers appear as first-class Foundry resources, with sample documents, upload, run, and results views in Markdown, table, or JSON.

A direct bridge to Content Understanding Studio remains available for advanced workflows like custom analyzer creation, labeling, and performance tuning. Teams building document intelligence solutions can now manage models, agents, deployments, and document analyzers in one workspace.
