Privacy Policy
Last updated Oct 14, 2026
This policy explains what information Cloud Releases collects when you use the site, why, and what you can do about it. You can browse the site without an account.
Information we collect
- Account details. If you sign in, we store your email address, your display name, when the account was created and when you last signed in. If you sign in with Google, we also receive the name, email address and profile picture address from your Google account. We never receive your Google password, and the site does not use passwords of its own.
- Newsletter address. If you subscribe to email updates, we store the email address you enter.
- Contact messages. If you use the contact form, we store the name, email address and message you send.
- Technical data. Like most websites, the servers that deliver the site and handle sign-in may log your IP address, browser type and the time of each request.
- Usage data. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are, and what kind of device and browser they use. It does not tell us who you are.
Information stored in your browser
Following a service needs an account. The list of services you follow is saved with your account on our servers, so that it is there on your other devices, and a copy is kept in your browser's local storage. If this browser holds a list from before following needed an account, it is added to your account when you sign in. Your browser also stores your sign-in session so that you stay signed in, and the email address a sign-in link was sent to until that link is used, and your choice of light or dark theme if you make one. Google Analytics sets cookies to tell one visit from another. The site does not use advertising cookies.
How we use information
- To sign you in and show your profile.
- To send the sign-in links you request.
- To send the newsletter, if you subscribed to it.
- To reply to messages you send us.
- To keep the site secure and working.
- To see which parts of the site are used, and improve it.
We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.
Services we rely on
Information is shared only with the providers that run parts of the site for us, each of which handles it under its own privacy terms:
- Google Firebase Authentication stores accounts, sends sign-in emails and handles Google sign-in.
- Supabase hosts our database, which holds the services signed-in users follow, the newsletter list and messages sent through the contact form.
- Google Analytics measures how the site is used.
- Our hosting provider delivers the site.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Account details, and the services an account follows, are kept until the account is deleted or you unfollow them. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact messages are kept for as long as we need them to reply and keep a record of the conversation. Server logs are kept for a limited time by the providers above.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter with the link in any newsletter email.
- Clear your followed services by unfollowing them. If you are not signed in, clearing this site's data in your browser does the same.
- Opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on, or by blocking cookies for this site.
- Ask for a copy of your information, or for your account and its information to be deleted.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights over your personal information under local law.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
