Managed Service for Apache Spark (formerly Google Cloud Serverless for Apache Spark):

Managed Service for Apache SparkGCP · Data Analytics

Managed Service for Apache Spark (formerly Google Cloud Serverless for Apache Spark):

  • Preconfigured Conda channels removed: Preconfigured conda channels (such as conda-forge) have been removed from configurations. All runtime version aliases now point to the latest runtime version without conda channel configuration.
  • Affected runtime versions: 1.2.89+, 2.2.89+, and 2.3.42+.

Managed Service for Apache Spark (formerly Dataproc on Compute Engine):

  • Enforced SPNEGO Authentication on Web UIs: Disabled anonymous access to YARN (ResourceManager, NodeManager) and HiveServer2 web interfaces on Kerberos-enabled clusters to align with Zero-Trust architecture. End users and administrators must hold an active Kerberos ticket (kinit) and configure their browser/client for SPNEGO negotiation to access cluster consoles.
  • Affected runtime versions: 2.2.88+, 2.3.37+, 3.0.3+.
  • End-to-End Encryption for Apache Ranger (HTTPS): Ranger Admin, UserSync, and client plugins now enforce HTTPS on port 6182 for SSL-enabled clusters. Traffic routed through Apache Knox Component Gateway is encrypted end-to-end with multizone support, and direct access should target https://<master-host>:6182 instead of legacy HTTP port 6080.
  • Affected runtime versions: 2.2.88+, 2.3.37+, 3.0.3+.
