Identity and Access Management (IAM) group authentication is generally available (GA) for new and existing AlloyDB clusters running PostgreSQL 15 and later. With IAM group authentication, you can manage database roles and privileges at the group level across primary instances and read pool instances, including first-time sign-ins directly to read pool instances. You can also preserve individual and IAM group user configurations when you migrate from a Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL backup.
For more information, see IAM database authentication overview and Manage IAM authentication.
