Beginning 15 October 2026 for accounts that have never created a PostgreSQL or MySQL database cluster and 30 November 2026 for all accounts, PostgreSQL and MySQL Standard Edition no longer offer plans with more than 4 GiB of RAM or support standby and read-only nodes.

You can no longer install extensions on PostgreSQL Advanced Edition clusters with CREATE EXTENSION.

The pre-installed pg_repack, pg_stat_statements, pgaudit, plpgsql, and vector extensions remain available. To request another extension, contact support. See Supported PostgreSQL Extensions.

PostgreSQL Advanced Edition and MySQL Advanced Edition managed database clusters are now generally available.

To create an Advanced Edition cluster, see How to Create PostgreSQL Database Clusters or How to Create MySQL Database Clusters.

PostgreSQL Advanced Edition clusters now support sslmode=verify-full for full TLS certificate verification.

For setup, see How to Connect to PostgreSQL Database Clusters and Increase TLS Verification with sslmode.
