Public Preview: Azure Managed Redis now supports Entra ID based RBAC for data management

With role-based access control (RBAC) for Azure Managed Redis data access, you can precisely control who can read, write, or administer your Redis data using Microsoft Entra ID—without relying on shared keys. Built on top of Redis Access Control Lists (ACLs), this update enables fine‑grained, role‑based permissions aligned with your enterprise identity system.

You benefit from stronger security through least‑privilege access, simplified compliance with auditable role assignments, and safer multiple‑team collaboration with scoped data access. By eliminating key management, you also reduce operational overhead and streamline onboarding of new apps and teams.

Overall, you gain enterprise‑grade data security and governance for Redis—without added complexity.
