Generally Available: Azure DocumentDB Migration Extension in Visual Studio Code

Azure DocumentDBAzure · Databases

Announcing the general availability of the Azure DocumentDB Migration Extension for Visual Studio Code. With this release, you can create, run, and manage migration jobs directly from Visual Studio Code to move data from your on-premises or cloud-based MongoDB deployments to Azure DocumentDB.

You no longer need to provision extra infrastructure or rely on complex migration tooling. Instead, you can use a familiar developer environment to plan and execute migrations with secure connectivity, zero additional cost, and precise control over the databases and collections you want to move.

This release helps you simplify modernization projects, reduce migration effort, and minimize disruption to your applications by enabling migrations without service interruptions. Whether you are moving a single workload or multiple databases, you can complete the process faster while maintaining flexibility and visibility throughout the migration journey.
