Retirement: End of life reminder of NVv3 and NVv4-series Azure virtual machine in Azure Batch pools
Microsoft Azure will retire support for NVv3 or NVv4-series VMs on September 30th, 2026, including
- NVv3 Series (NVIDIA Tesla M60 GPU): Standard_NV12s_v3, Standard_NV12hs_v3, Standard_NV24s_v3, Standard_NV24ms_v3, Standard_NV32ms_v3, Standard_NV48s_v3
- NVv4 Series (AMD Radeon Instinct MI25 GPU): Standard_NV4as_v4, Standard_NV4ahs_v4, Standard_NV8as_v4, Standard_NV8ahs_v4, Standard_NV16as_v4, Standard_NV16ahs_v4, Standard_NV32as_v4, Standard_NV32ahs_v4
Azure Batch will follow Microsoft Azure support retirement dates for NVv3 or NVv4-series VM support in Batch pools. Please refer to the original Azure retirement NVv3 series retirement - Azure Virtual Machines | Microsoft Learn and NVv4 series retirement - Azure Virtual Machines | Microsoft Learn.
From now until September 30th, 2026, you'll need to either migrate your Batch pools to a newer VM series in the same NC product line, or you may migrate to a different Batch-supported VM size suitable for your workload. After the target retirement dates, no new Batch pools specifying the NVv3 or NVv4-series VM family will be able to be successfully created. In addition, existing pools with NVv3 or NVv4-series VMs will no longer be able to scale out and will be subject to forced resize to zero nodes.
